The 2nd Congress of the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation was an unforgettable experience for me as an American Kurd. Arriving in Berlin, I was deeply moved to witness such remarkable unity among Kurds from all four parts of Kurdistan, united by a common mission and vision of a free Kurdistan, transcending any differences.
The event, held in Berlin, was led by Shifa Barzani, who graciously welcomed everyone with his humble spirit and genuine love for his people. It was heartwarming to see so many Kurdish professionals gathered from around the world—Bakur, Bashur, Rojava, and Rojhelat—all eager to connect, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. We engaged in meaningful discussions and voted to elect our new congress for the next four years. The voting process was fair and inclusive, allowing everyone the opportunity to run for positions and support candidates they believed would best serve the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation.
I am deeply honored to be part of this incredible journey to unite as one under the flag of Kurdistan, to advocate for its freedom, and to see it recognized on the map. Together, we can make a difference and uplift our communities with compassion and determination.
